January
will be coming to a close soon. Time
moves way too fast in my opinion.
I drew the
Ace of Wands for January, so I wanted to talk a little about that card and what
it has meant to me over this month.
When we
pull any of the Wand cards, we automatically connect it to our creativity, inspiration
and self-expression. Wands represent
Fire, Spirit and Intuition. They spark
the Fire within us! These cards show you how you need to take action in your
life and deal with challenges regarding the above.
When we
draw any Aces in Tarot, they represent one – a beginning, something that is
just starting to develop, a new opportunity. Also, being One – they represent solitude,
concentrating your energy so that you can focus on your goal or desire.
“When the
Ace of Wands appears, its built up energy will change you to find your
authentic self, stretching you to the heights of spiritual and conscious
expansion.” – The Star Tarot, Cathy McClelland
This was
the perfect card to start 2023! I could
feel the passion to do something different and creative in my life.
After a
crazy holiday time, dealing with family issues and health, I was ready to lock
myself away in my studio and create. With
my ADHD, I have an incredible hard time focusing on one thing, so of course I
had multiple projects going on at the same time (as usual). But, I did have some goals for the month…
The first
goal was to make something with my Silhouette cutting machine. I decided to decorate little canvas bags that
I could then sell in the shop and also on my Etsy. I first created a bunch for the shop with a
Valentine’s Day theme. Then I started
working on the ones for Etsy. I was a
little over ambitious about how many I could do, but I made a great start! (I will post when those actually get into the
shop.) The small size is perfect for a small Tarot deck. I also want to do Medium and Large ones.
My second goal was to take a class using Procreate. (Procreate is a drawing app that is on the IPad.) So, I signed up for a class and have been working my way through it. It has been very time consuming, and it is hard for me to work on it too long before I move in a different direction. This is the first “real” project that I did on it:
My third goal (yes – I over planned) was to create notebooks, planners, and dividers. I absolutely love anything paper. I did make one divider for my planner. Didn’t get as far as I had planned. But, I did buy a few tools that I needed to help me.
There was no big earth shattering project, but the creativity was definitely flowing! I hope that it will continue throughout the rest of the year.
When you
pull a card for the day, week, month, whatever, remember to go back and
reflect. You will be surprised at how
much it was trying to tell you.
Make sure
to stop back by, I drew the 7 of Pentacles for February.
